7 Days trip to Imperial Cities from Benalmadena
Day 1 – Costa del Sol – Tarifa – Tangier – Tetouan
Your 7-day trip to the Imperial Cities from the Costa del Sol begins with a transfer to Tarifa and a ferry crossing over the Strait of Gibraltar. In less than an hour, Europe gives way to Africa and Tangier appears on the horizon, a city shaped by sultans, diplomats and artists.
Upon arrival, we enjoy a panoramic tour including Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules, two emblematic landmarks overlooking the Atlantic. We then continue to Tetouan, known for its whitewashed medina and Andalusian heritage. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 – Tangier – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast, we depart south toward Volubilis, a remarkably preserved Roman archaeological site. We walk along the Decumanus Maximus, admire mosaics and explore the Arch of Caracalla, because this ancient city once formed part of the Roman Empire in North Africa.
Later, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. We visit El Hedim Square and admire Bab al-Mansour, a monumental gate commissioned by Sultan Moulay Ismail. By late afternoon, we arrive in Fez. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 – Fez
Breakfast precedes a full-day guided tour of Fez, the country’s spiritual and intellectual capital. We admire the Royal Palace gates before entering Fez El-Bali, a UNESCO-listed medina. Through Bab Boujloud, we access a labyrinth of alleys filled with artisans, tanneries and madrasas decorated with zellige tiles and carved cedarwood. Lunch in a traditional restaurant and free afternoon. Optional dinner show. Overnight stay.
Day 4 – Fez – Casablanca – Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic center. We stop at the Corniche and admire the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, dramatically positioned above the Atlantic. In the afternoon, we continue to Marrakech. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Marrakech
Breakfast. Today we explore Marrakech, the Red City. We visit the Menara Gardens, the Bahia Palace and the Mellah. In Jemaa el-Fna Square, storytellers and musicians create a vibrant atmosphere, while nearby souks display spices, textiles and handicrafts. Lunch included. Optional evening activity. Overnight stay.
Day 6 – Marrakech – Rabat
After breakfast, we depart for Rabat. We visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas, which offers panoramic views over the Bouregreg River. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 – Rabat – Tangier – Tarifa – Costa del Sol
Following breakfast, we return to Tangier and board the ferry to Tarifa. Transfer to the Costa del Sol and end of services.
