9 Days tour to Great Desert from Torremolinos
Day 1 – Costa del Sol – Tarifa – Tangier – Rabat – Casablanca
Your 9-day tour to the Great Desert from the Costa del Sol begins with an early departure to Tarifa and a fast ferry crossing over the Strait of Gibraltar. In just under an hour, Europe gives way to Africa as Tangier welcomes the group. After meeting our Moroccan guide, we continue south toward Rabat, the imperial capital of the Kingdom.
Free time for lunch en route precedes our journey through fertile plains and Atlantic landscapes until we reach Casablanca, Morocco’s economic metropolis. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 – Casablanca – Marrakech
After breakfast, we enjoy a panoramic tour of Casablanca, including Avenue Hassan II, Place des Nations Unies and the exterior of the Royal Palace. We also admire the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, dramatically built above the Atlantic (interior visit optional).
Later, we depart for Marrakech. Arrival in the afternoon, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight stay. Optional Marrakech by Night experience available.
Day 3 – Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Breakfast and guided visit of Marrakech, including the Menara Gardens, the Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fna Square, where souks and storytellers create an unforgettable atmosphere.
We then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar famous for films such as Gladiator. After exploring the kasbah, we continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 – Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Erfoud
After breakfast, we travel through the Draa Valley and Kelaat M’Gouna, known for its rose festival. We continue via Boumalne du Dades to the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise dramatically above the riverbed. Free time for lunch.
Arrival in Erfoud, gateway to the Sahara. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Breakfast precedes our journey to Merzouga and the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Optional 4×4 excursion to nomadic villages and Khamlia. In the afternoon, we ride camels across the dunes at sunset before reaching our desert camp. Traditional dinner, music under the stars and overnight stay in comfortable tents.
Day 6 – Merzouga – Ifrane – Fez
We depart north, crossing the Middle Atlas via Midelt and Azrou’s cedar forests. Stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine architecture. Arrival in Fez, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 – Fez
Breakfast and guided tour of Fez El-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We admire the Royal Palace gates, Bab Boujloud, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Chouara Tanneries and the University of Al Quaraouiyine. Lunch in a traditional restaurant and free afternoon. Overnight stay.
Day 8 – Fez – Chefchaouen – Tangier
After breakfast, we travel through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. We stroll through its blue-painted medina and Outta el Hammam Square before continuing to Tangier. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9 – Tangier – Tarifa – Costa del Sol
Breakfast and ferry crossing back to Tarifa. Transfer to the Costa del Sol and end of services.
